Jim charts the overall strategic direction of Wexford and leads the executive management team.
His experience includes the development and marketing of flexible, state-of-the-art research and laboratory space for universities and university-related research parks and health care systems, development of commercial real estate, and the redevelopment and repositioning of existing properties.
Jim also brings to the firm his intimate knowledge of corporate financial structuring, debt and equity markets and tax and accounting regulations as they relate to real estate leases and financing.
President of Townsend Capital, LLC from 1996 through 2005, Jim extended the company’s relationships with universities, university-related research parks, health systems and other non-profit institutions.
Prior to joining Townsend Capital, Jim was a banking industry veteran, with over 18 years at Bank of America, N.A. and its predecessor banks. At Bank of America, he was Commercial Market Manager for the Washington, D.C. region.
Jim graduated from Pennsylvania State University, cum laude, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Finance, and University of Virginia’s Colgate Darden School of Business Administration with a Masters of Business Administration. He serves as Chairman of the Executive Board of the Boy Scouts of America, Baltimore Area Council and a member of the Board of Trustees and Treasurer of Blind Industries and Services of Maryland.
